Hey fellow pickers and gear-aholics.

Has anyone tried out either the ART SLA 1 or SLA 2 single space power amps in their rack systems ?? They are fan cooled and smaller depth wise than the Stewart.

Just checking to see if anyone has any feedback as to how these might have worked out.

Thanks
Ray D.

Hey Ray,
Yeah....I've got an SLA-2 mounted in this old cabinet
along with an Eminence Kappalite 15" speaker.
560 watts rms and only 40lbs.

I've been using this along with a PODxt for a couple
years now and it's the best all around rig I've had yet! I was afraid to go with a single
space Stewart power amp since they don't use a cooling fan. They rely on convection cooling
only and this isn't a conventional rack-type set up.

Thanks Jay.

You have already done what I may do. I have an older somewhat beat up Webb extension cabinet laying around and thought about mounting and trying out one of the SLA 2's right in the cabinet.

My 2 current setups consist of Revelation preamps, TC M300 effect units and Mosvalve 500 poweramps. The Mosvalve weighs the best part of 30 pounds by itself but does has a terrific sound. My current speaker cabinets are either a set of Peavey 1-15 E's with 1501 BW's or a terrific set of Rick Johnson cabinets, one with a Kapplite 30-15 and one with a Deltalite two, 25-15 in it.

I wonder if anyone has tried a SLA 2 with a Revelation yet??

My old Evans FET 500's have been sitting in the closet since I put these systems together.

I have several Srewart world 1.2 power amps and they perform nicely. They run warm but never hot and have plenty of power and are one space and light. I use two of them with Rev pereamps and one with a GP-100 preamp/processor. Hook Moore also uses the Rev and the Stewart world 1.2.

I am using a ART SLA1 sometimes driving 2 12" cabinets.
I feed the SLA with a Lexicon or Podxt.
Works good and nice tone.

I've never used their Power Amps so can't speak for them but tried their Pre Amps. Bought one and returned it right after receiving it. The noise was terrible. They sent me another and it had the same problem so I sent that back and quit trying them. I then bought a Rev and use a Stewart World 1.2.... Now I have something.
