Will just any AC to DC wall wart that puts out 9 volts work on the DR-5 or do I need a particular one. The owner's manual does not address this issue, that I can find.

Pretty much any of them will work ..

BUT

you may have to cut the wire before the plug and reverse the polarity of the connector.

Check the PS polarity and then the polarity on the input of the Drum machine.

Many times the + is the outer connection and not the inner connection.

I just did this with a Zoom Drum Machine, I found an old wallwart ( of many ) that was close in voltage, reversed the connector and it was a good day. Except I decided I didn't like the Drum Machine and returned it !

I use a Boss PSA-120T power supply with mine. Works fine and never hurt it.
