Congrats to Bobbe on The Texas Hall of Fame. Now he needs to be on the wall in St Louis. My Dad gave me a shotgun that he had planned to leave me in his will. Called me and told me to come get it. said he wanted to see me enjoy it. I'd like to see Bobbe
Seymour enjoy the International Hall of Fame Award for a lot of years to come. We've enjoyed him for a lot of years.

A fine award for a great player!
Congratulations, Bobbe.
Now wait a second...Jerry Garcia was known for having a closet full of black t-shirts-seems like he wore those things about 90% of the time.
So just how manyof those dark nylon jackets do you have, Bobbe? _________________ Mark |

Bobbe-Congrats on your award.
I thought you were also already in the ISG Hall of Fame. I imagine they are thinking of remedying that in short order. With your historical record through the years , you deserve it for sure.....al. _________________ Michigan (MSGC)Christmas Dinner and Jam on my 80th Birthday.

You guys are all too wonderful, your response to my award is very much welcomed by me.
This Texas award means so much to me because of my love for Texas and the wonderful music that is played there.
My musical formative years were spent in Texas, from Dallas to Lubbock, Big Spring, Lamesa, Odessa, etc. My heart is still there playing that wonderful swing and laughing with my old friends.
Albert Tally has been a dear friend all my life and is so typical of Texas hospitality, he treated me like a king when I couldn't even eat like a pauper.
Maurice and I go back to childhood and he feels much more like a brother than any of my blood brothers did.
Scotty is another person that I feel was instrumental in my entry to the HOF, thank you !
Another great happening in my life is all the new Texas friends I have met in the last ten years, not to slight the rest of the world and new friends there also, you all have made me a very lucky and happy person. Fred Shannon, you know what I mean!
I know my award was voted on by many folks in the club, this makes me feel the best. It's a shame all of us can't be Texans in a lot of ways.
I'll close by saying: This award has a real special meaning to me, it means more than you can imagine. Some of the worlds greatest steel players are in this HOF and I have admired all of them all my life.
A real heart felt thank you to all of you in Texas and out of Texas. After all, we all love the same thing, Great Steel Guitar!!!!!!
Your great friend,
Bobbe Seymour
P.S. And again, thank you to all you posters in this thread, |

Posted 23 Mar 2007 7:24 am Now, about the nylon jacket:
|
|
This nylon jacket is one of five that I have, they are BeechCraft aircraft jackets that I receved as a award for showing my Bonanza at the "Homecoming BeechCraft fly in" in Tullahoma TN.
They are my "Lucky" jackets, I wear them when I'm nervous mostly, This is getting more frequent as time goes by!
Thanks for asking,
Bobbe |
