Video postings

As you all know, for several months now I have been posting videos to the internet of various conventions.

My question is this.

While the hits on the videos have exceeded 100,000 and the readers of each post is very high, I am not getting many written responses on the forum. And the ones I am getting are all from the same few people and I thank them for that.

However, since I know so many are watching the videos, I need to have more written responses to let me know that the videos are being enjoyed and that you want more.

If any of you have done any posting to YouTube, then you know that it requires a pretty fair amount of time to transfer video from tape to computer, rework to MPG format and then upload. So I just want to be sure it is worth the effort. I enjoy doing this, but it is for your watching and listening pleasure.

So if you like it, LET ME KNOW.

Bill,

Second posting, and still loving every one of your videos! Watch them faithfully, and turn green with envy every time I watch and listen to all the fantastic steelers and band members.

Haven't seen any video of the late great Jeff Newman, but would love to see his smiling face again, if sadly only on video. Can you oblige?

Many thanks again.

Bill. One of the highlights of logging in this forum is to be able to see various players doing their thing. I don't comment about it much, but things wouldn't be the same here without your video postings. In the early days of the forum that wasn't available and it now adds a whole other level of learning.

Thanks for what you do.

Bill I will speak for myself and I'm sure many many others by saying thanks for all your work on the videos. I think listening and watching these helps all of us sharpen up our own style and technique, not to mention "steeling" some new old licks.

Hi Bill, although I have been a "lurker" for many years on this forum, I still enjoy it, even more so since you have been showing these wonderful clips.
Like myself, I am sure there are many many players on this forum that you are giving great pleasure to by posting these videos. Please keep up the good work. :D

Thanks for the replies.

By the way, I am not looking for thanks. I just want to know that what I am doing is worthwhile.

About Jeff Newman. I have video of Jeff, but I must talk to Fran to see if it is ok to post. I will work on that.

Keep those cards and letters coming.
Bill

Hi Bill, I mailed you about the cowboy Eddie Long clip and how I enjoyed it.
In the 70's I quit playing the steel, because here in Europe there were only a handfull of decent players to be inspired by. Aspecialy when you like steel in other fields than countrymusic. But I recently picked it up again, because through the internet getting inspired is so much easier and your effords have everything to do with that. You let me enjoy players that I would not be able to see otherwise. The whole forum brings so much inspiration into my home that I also like to thank B0b for making it all possible. But reading about it is always different than watching the pro's excel and some others stumble just as I am.
Every clip is a lesson in that respect, so please go on.

Jack,
The list I have posted is:

Steel On The Web

List of YouTube & Google Videos.

It should not be too far down the line as I try to keep it bumped.

Bill, these were not your postings. one had 445 videos, another had 74 fingerstyle guitar and many more steel sites. my lack of expertise on this computer hampers me from going back but will keep searching. I have found all of yours and they are great. enjoyed WALTZ YOU SAVED FOR ME by you. you are really smooth on those slow ones. Jack

Keep 'em coming Bill. Everytime I'm on the internet one of my MUST's is to see if you've put any video's up. It is appreciated very much, especially for a beginner like me who needs as much exposure to different players styles as I can get.

In my opinion, videos of steel guitarists should be a topic heading, and all the links kept in one place on the Forum. There are thousands of links if you look for them, but no one place to look for them.

Thank You Very Much Bill

First of all...I want to say I'm sorry for not thanking you Bill a long time before now. The videos are truly fantastic....the ones of Curly Chalker and Hal Rugg especially. I can remember back when I was a kid and watching the Wilburn Brothers show of course back then I had no interest in steel guitar so those two were not as important. I took interest in the pedal steel about 1976 and was watching Curly Chalker on the Hee Haw show, thats when Curly and his style of playing became my favorite. I just wish I could make my MSA sound that good lol. Thanks again Bill and please keep the videos going.
