Older Nashville 400
This is my first post so please excuse any mistakes.I am kinda new at pedal steel also. I started in the early 1980's by going to a Jeff Newman siminar in colorado, bought another steel and a new NV400sometime after that.Had to give it up for many years due to work and family but now i'm here to stay.My question is how much difference is there in the sound after doing the modification I was reading about on another post?I got the instructions and parts list from Peavey but not what it costs or if its still available. The serial# on this amp is 7A-02921978.I read that the upgrade was called "modded" or "the mod.)Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Gene, my NV 400 is also a 7A- number. I had the mod installed by Peavey last November. Before the mod, lots of treble, always had to turn the bass up and the treble down, I never would even consider pulling the bright switch. After the mod, much smoother sound, with the ability to adjust the eq over a larger range. I do like some highs, so sometimes I use the bright switch, and often turn down the bass. Overall, It's a better sound now, more versatile. I think it's worth the investment. The price was quite reasonable, and I got it back in about a week.
