Does anyone know what Greg Leisz is up to these days? He's a great player, but it seems he's always under the radar. He played some cool stuff with Ryan Adams and Emmylou Harris at the Gram Parsons Tribute Show back in 1999. (The Sessions at 54th Street, which in my opinion was better than the Return of the Grievous Angel one they did a couple of years ago.)
Anyway, I'm sure he's staying busy...just wondering what he's up to these days. |

I saw Greg last year playing steel in the band for Garrison Keilor's Prarie Home Companion show at the Hollywood Bowl. Played smooth and as beautifully as ever. |

I caught Greg here in Seattle a few months back playing a duo show with Bill Frisell. Nice combo and Greg brought all manner of cool lap steels and a Williams pedal steel (12 string if memory serves...) and, I think a dobro or 2... He had several things to choose from anyway. Nice night of music! |

I see Greg every few days, as he lives very close.
He's very busy doing sessions, and the list of people he's played and recorded with in the past few months is dizzying.
He's not touring with K.D. Lang this go-around, but I'm sure he'll be playing this summer with Frisell. |

I got to see Greg a few years ago with KD at the Eastman Theater in Rocheater NY. He played some very tasty stuff . I will always remember the other musicians at the show too. But they said 'He's The Greatest Steel Guitar Player Ever '.Taste and Tone .KD was the last to leave the theater 'cause there was a basketball game on she wanted to see on the TV ,

Greg is the reason that I have so many Bill Frisell CDs. They complement each other very well! _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Greg was at Sneaky Pete's Celebration of Life service a while back, and played Michael Johnstone's Excel (I think), Bill Maresh's Fender 1000, tried my huge 1 1/4" bar that used to belong to Sneaky, and basically tore the place up on unfamiliar equipment. Just a monster and a nice guy to boot. _________________ No chops, but great tone
