This looks pretty cool but it may be all hype. The Variax is only $300 as this one is $1700.
Big difference. These are starting to show up in stores.

Has anyone tried it yet?

The variax stuff is being blown out for cheap money. I don't know what is going on with that. I wonder if they are just closing out old stock and making way for a new product. I was working a show with a Line 6 endorsee and she did not even get a notice from the company that the basses were being dumped on the market and discontinued
