Wow, that was great!
And I love the tone she has there - is that an Asher? Neck-pickup, I suppose... |

It's kinda hard to see, but it looks like she's playing an Asher Electro-Hawaiian, and that one has two pickups - sounds like she's using the neck, or even more likely, middle position (both pickups), which sounds more acoustic than the bridge pickups.
Or maybe she has piezo transducers in the bridge? |

it is an Asher. Steinar's Asher has a similar sound.
to my ears it sounds very acoustic and not electric.
of course it IS an electric lap steel.
I would like to see how she has it amped.
there are some pedals too. |

Sounds to me like she's using the middle position on her Asher, and may have a piezo blended in. Mine has a piezo with a seperate output,- it's not any good on its own, but mixed with the magnetic pickups it can add some nice air to the sound.

On her web site Cindy lists the Aguilar DB900 with the comment:
Quote: |
The Aguilar DB 900 Tube Direct Box is incredible for reproducing a "real" Dobro sound if you're using a pickup. A huge difference from what is available for use in most venues. Has all tube circuit design and high headroom. |

Thats a great clip to show to folks who don't understand the difference between a "slide guitar" and a "steel guitar" ... |
