Sneaky circa 1970
Here's a recently added live concert recording of the Flying Burrito Bros from 1970--great Sneaky Pete, he is "on!"
I really like his playing here on "Cody Cody", maybe not the best FBB material, but s-o-o-o Sneaky!
And he sings "Willie and the Hand Jive!"

Sneaky Pete & the Flying Burrito Brothers
Finally! Wolfgangs Vault has several concerts by the FBB. I look forward to more releases. Maybe something with Gram. Sneaky seems to really have found his speed by this time. What a great player & what a great loss with his passing. I still listen to something by him almost every day.

I was working at the Fillmore at that time and was there. The shows weren't announced a long time ahead and the place was almost empty.
The opening was two guys on ropes swinging behind the lightshow screen as Bill Graham announced The flying Burito Bothers. Somthing went wrong and the two guys hit each other and fell, no got hurt and it was funny.
The best part (and worst) of working there was 4 shows, 2 on Firday and 2 on Sat. When you saw great bands, WOW, but you also had to sit there thru some really bad bands.

Any hints on how that site works? Every time I try to D/L a show it does nothing - and a left click seems to go into some endless loops. I can't get anything at all, even a song list. Looks like some great shows - but how do you get them? It isn't another one of those convoluted torrent things, is it?
No chops, but great tone

The Master sings! Love that Hand Jive.
Mr. Pete definitely played the guitar. The fact that it had pedals--well all the better. He was a phenom.
Great concert recording; nice separation of the parts and voices. Thanks a bunch for the link.

Another Burrito's Concert
I just checked this morning & Wolfgang's Vault has another Burrito Concert with Sneaky & Gram Parsons from 4/06/69. Two in one week! Here is the link to the other -http://concerts.wolfgangsvault.com/Conc ... 41918|7373

Jonathan, I don't know what URL you mean - the only one I can find that does anything is the one for the site...all the links with the concert names are some kind os "aspx" url or something, which takes me to a list of concerts for that band...and when you hit THOSE links...it does nothing. No info, no download, nada. Looked for help files but this looks like another "torrent" thing, or something similar, where you have to know the secret handshake or something to figure out how to download or listen to anything.
Can anyone explain a simple way to 1) find out what info exists for each show, if any, and 2) how to download the music? Is it not Mac-compatible? What's the "aspx" file-type all about?
Obviously, I'm clueless about this stuff. Digital music transfers seem to have so many different weird methods I have no idea how to post my OWN stuff, much less D/L anything else. "Right click on the mp3 file name" is about as far as I get....

You'll have to register as well. My link did the same thing. You have to capture the :7373&aid=30311 with the rest of the link.

It's just a straitforward website with streaming content to choose from, 'Radio Fillmore' basically. Works under Mac OSX with Safari. Start off at
http://concerts.wolfgangsvault.com
if that doesn't work try a different browser. Hope that helps.

Jerry - thanks, that got me to wherer I could listen to at least one show. Still can't figure out how to play the other ones. If it's "streaming" content, how do you start it streaming, other than knowing a specific URL like Jerry posted?
And as Jay mentioned - how do you get it to CD or another player (like into iTunes for iPod use?).
FWIW also, once it started playing, I exited the browser...and it didn't stop! Closed Safari - still running. Had to do a force-quit of some part of Safari that was still running.
Like I said - not easy to figure out. It's not the most user-friendly site I've ever seen. You'd think the download part would be a right-click like every normal site uses...????

downloading a concert.
I just hook up my minidisc player to the earphone plug on my soundcard & adjust the volume & record. I then transfer that to a CD-probably an easier way to do it, but I haven't figured it out.
Still do not know how anyone could download off it - recording off the soundcard seems to be extremely noisy, so that's out.
What's the download secret? Or even the secret to playing the files on the computer? As mentioned I can get to the listing for one show, but the songs dont play when you click them. ???

Go to the Safari menu and uncheck Block Pop Up Menus.
There's no way to download the stream to your hard disk but you can record it with something like Audio Hijack http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijack/
