John Reese, the songwriter I work with, asked me to put together an "Electronic Press Kit" for our band on Sonicbids.com. It's a pretty cool site for band promotion. Here's our link:

What do you think?

To dry a format. Myspace has the same function and generates traffic on its own.

Hmm. The goal of this site is to sell bands to live music purchasers (clubs, festivals, etc.). It's not intended for fans. The intended audience is business people. It's supposed to be the online equivalent of the press kit that you send out to get gigs.

The ads on Myspace really turn me off. Plus you have to be a member to use it. I didn't want a Myspace page, but I had to "join" just to look at other people's Myspace sites (and endure more animated ads).

When you're making a sales pitch, you don't want other sales pitches on the screen competing with you. And you want you customer to be comfortable. I always feel like Myspace is trying to "own me" when I'm on their site.

This isn't a replacement for the band's web site. It will be a link on our "bookings" page, for sure, but it's not the site that we send our fans to.
