Matses?

Is anyone familiar with a brand of lap steel called Matses? I'd appreciate any info.

These were built in Massacusetts in the late 80's/early 90's by Chuck Mattses. I believe it was a part time, in-the-garage kind of shop. He hasn't advertised for years and I've never seen him on any of the steel BBs so I assume he got out of the guitar biz.
