GoldTone 8 string lap

I just received my 8 string GoldTone.
I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet but just thought I'd report on the string spacing. There has been some question as to this recently.
The string spacing at the nut is approx. 5/16" and at the bridge it is 3/8".
It truly is a beautiful instrument with its sunburst finish and cream colored binding. It is fashioned after the Oahu Tonemaster gutar.
