I don't post very much, but I needed to say this about Jagwire Strings.
These are the most amazing strings that I have ever played. In all my years of playing, these strings are the most consistent for tone. But the one thing that sold me was...I don't break the 3rd string at all! Not any string really. I don't know what Danny has done but...keep it going!
This is only my opinion...this string and Company works for me!
Thanks, Junior. _________________ 2006 Msa S-12 “milly” 8 & 5

I agree Junior. I picked up my new Rains last new years. I've done around 120 dates on it this year. Just last week I changed strings on both necks. I changed an 11 and 17 periodically through the year, but only broke 1. The strings still had tone played in tune. I was really just testing the guitar by doing this, but it sure is a testimonial to the Jagwires. I'm sold on 'em. |

Dittos. I've been using Jagwire nickel wound strings for some time now. I recently tried a set of stainless wound and like them even more. I think my Mullen guitar likes them, too! _________________ Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande

I just tried them on my Mullen a couple months ago for the first time. Thought I could tell a difference in tone right away, better than I had before. Course it may be my ears playing tricks, since I have some high frequency hearing loss........ |

I whole-heartedly agree. And I bend that 4th string all the time, too. My fear is that the company will decide to not make them last as long...
I like the Ricky Davis set. _________________ Al

This is the topic for all those neverending string breaking dicussions. These strings to me are a TRUE revolution in the pedal steel industry.
Because after all these years the nightmare of stringbreaking during the "big solo" is over !!
But I´m afraid as well, that they could change the way they make them, because Jagwire strings seem to last forever....and nobody
needs to buy and replace them........
Thanks Jagwire and please, don`t change anything !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Junior I have to totally agree, we have seen nothing but GREAT from this company. Jagwire strings are one of the finest that is why you find them standard on our Mullen Guitars. The team just works, the strings and the guitar and us and Danny, he is one great guy and a great friend. Danny keep up the tremendous work. Don't forget Ragina, she really keeps it running. _________________ Mike Mantey

I have been using and selling Jagwire Strings for 4 1/2 years and I have broken 1 3rd string in that length of time and that is the only string I have broken, and to be honest I broke that one putting it on which was at the tuning key and was my fault and not the string. I am going to change strings next week before I go to Dallas, but the ones on my guitar are over 6 weeks old and still have a lot of life left. I have used other brands that would have been dead within less than two weeks. I can't say enough about the great strings and also dealing with Danny Hullihen. The only negative thing I can say is that from a dealer standpoint, I don't sell near as many .011s and .017s since they don't break. Also, for what it is worth I use the stainless, but that is up to the individual taste.

JR,
Would you send me a set of your pull offs, maybe I can still get a few of your licks off of them.

i Have a lot of 0.18 & 0.38 brake on two of my steels. also if you use a stainless tone bar the wound ones go flat . but still happy with them. |

Jay, I have yet to break an .11 on my bolt on and have broken only one .17 since I switched over. I highly recommend these strings for push pulls. |

I like the Jagwire John Hughey Signature Series, the third is 11 1/2, and I have had it on my Pre RP Mullen since November 2006..I play about one hour a day...great strings..I have to send b0b some more money for a backup set...have other sets but after using the Jags, I'll probably just store the others. |

I won't use anything else. For the folks interested in obtaining them, Danny will be bringing them to the Dairy Show in March. |

I couldn't agree more, Junior. Regardless what people say about the plain strings all being the same, I beg to differ. The average string can be bent about three times and it will break. (I play keyless, the strings are broken off at a screw). Jagwire strings have to be bent about 7 to ten times before they will break. That tells me a different alloy is being used in the plain strings. In four years of using them, I have broken one string.

I hardly ever break a string. 10 is the most common one I break. Guess I'm not playing enough. _________________ Gary Shepherd

To Jay Ganz in reference to Jag's on a push pull. On my practice guitar which I play almost every day-many hours in the course of a year-in March of 04 I put an 11.5 third string on my push pull and took it off last month to play in Mesa. I wanted to leave it on to see how long it would last but was afraid that would be when it gave up. I have never had a third string last that long. I think it must be some kind of record. |

Without a Doubt; Hands down, the Jagwire is the most stable and stable sounding string I've ever put on a Steel.
Thank you Danny Hullihen; for taking the mystery out of whether a string is good or not....>your Jagwire string is ALWAYS GOOD!!!!!!!!!

I hope I never have to go back to using Brand X strings. These things are just amazing.
Danny, are you guys any closer to getting the new decals in yet?

Ive played teles, acoustics and now steel and really a string was a string ,none of them really where heads and shoulders better or worse than the other brands, they all lasted about the same, they all broke about the same and they all sounded about the same .......UNTIL NOW !!! I'll buy about 4 or 5 packs of JAGWIRES a year at the steel show and thats all I need for the year. The only problem I have is which signature series to get. |
