I have an S-10, and have never sat behind, nor played, a d-10.
Does anyone use both necks in one song?javascript:emoticon(' ')
Embarassed
I know, silly, but I'm curious.

We are like ignorant shepherd's living on a site where great civilization once flourished. The shepherds play with the fragments that pop up to the surface, having no notion of the beautiful structures of which they were once apart. Yes Gordy you can. |

No dumb questions here!
Sometimes I do play on both necks during one song. I may play fills on E9 and the Ride on C6 or vice versa....just however the mood strikes me. |

Gordy:
I have seen and heard Doug Jernigan play "Bonnie Marie" at several shows, always using both C6th and E9th in the song. He plays back and forth between the necks seamlessly, a beautiful performance.
To use a sports announcer cliche', THAT one should make all the highlight reels.

Gordy,
Check out some of my postings in the Tab section of this forum. I use both necks in one songs a lot. The C6th neck is a lot of fun to experiment with and I think its lower voicing may fit some of the more modern music a little better.

It's cool to figure out stuff on C6 that fit in with your E9 Playin, even if it's just something short and sweet. |

I have played E9 for a song and switched to C6 for the solo,
and visa versa.
What ever works

Can someone build me a triple neck --state-of-the-art steel with enough pedals? The pedal steel is still somewhat infant. I have many ideas I'd like to project. I'm listening. .....j...... |

Isn't that what S12 pickers do all the time? Ask Larry Bell! |

Dr. Hugh, I don't know how many pedals and KLs you're thinking of, but Johnny Cox has a beautiful triple neck Zum pedal guitar for sale. Unless it's sold already. Might be just what you're looking for!
