This is a song of the Platters from the

Roy, that really is beautiful playing and I love your tone. If you don't mind a couple questions just out of curiosity; did you go direct or mic'ed? What kind of steel are you playing? Not that your playing wouldn't be as beautiful on any steel or recording technique... |

Thank you and Jim I went direct to Roland
Digital recorder and used the National Dynamic 6 string tuned E6th with high G#.

Thank you Roy, wow, I sure don't get a tone like that when I go direct. Really lovely tone and technique. Thanks for sharing it with us. [This message was edited by Jim Phelps on 19 March 2005 at 03:02 PM.] |

Roy-san. I really enjoyed your recent fantastic tunes including Maria Elena & Night Run for Pedal Steel. I am trying to play Maria Elena. You inspire me a lot. Doumo Arigatou. |

Greetings Kunihiko and I wish you good luck.
If you read tablature you might wish to check my Threads in the Tablature section of the Forum. May be of interest and save you much time?

Roy, you are killin' me! Am I going nuts or is this as great a tone as I have ever heard? Man, you are doing this lap steel thing better than I ever-----------, well you know what I'm saying.
Is this on a Gibson or what, which model? Amp or direct?
Your buddy,

Hi Bobbe,
If you keep this up I might sell some more tablature!
I mentioned earlier in the thread that I used a little National Dynamic Six String
for that Platters song.
I go direct to a Roland digital. Mike my
classical guitar first.
I just use default settings on the Digital
recorder, no EQ adjustments, and set my tone on my steel. When not recording I use the Nash 400 and get the same sound and use the
same settings as I do for Pedal Steel.
Best Regards Bobbe,I wish we lived closer but this Internet is somethin' isn't it!!!
Next best thing to being there.
