I just had Federal Express quote me $450.00 to send a pair of split cases to Australia to a customer. Whew! Anyone have any suggestions?

I just had a pedal steel shipped to me in Australia last week. We ended up going DHL but the process was very frustrating.

Assuming the cases are under 40lb each, I would ship them via USPS. They can be fully insured and they have a variety of price/speed options. If the customer doesn't mind waiting 4-6 weeks it would probably only cost 50-60 bucks each.

Kevin, You can ship business to business through Bax Global. They can beat that price. I recently sent a Fender 1,000 to
South Africa in a very large box and they were about half what the other International shippers quoted. Good Luck.

At that price you could wait until the next bargain flight offer and take it over yourself as check-in luggage !

Hey Kevin! Thanks for going “in to bat” on this for me… I appreciate it!

Hey Matt! I thought of you when Kevin emailed me earlier today… I knew you had hit this wall and found a workaround. Hope you are finding lots of joy with the new horn mate!
Kevin I don’t mind the wait if that works for you… we are used to equipment literally being shipped to OZ… the main thing is that it is easy for you to manage.
Your cases look amazing and the wait will be worth it I am sure!
