Fender Champ fight on eBay

You'd think I'd have better things to do on a Friday evening, but this is what middle age has brought me for entertainment.

On eBay right now is a Seller with no history and what appears to be two buyers with no history slugging it out over a Fender Champ. (eBay number is 7307795301)

They're at almost $900.00 for a guitar that I wouldn't have imagined going for more than $400.00! Sure wish my Dad would have invested in Fender Laptops and hid em under the bed rather than whatever it was he invested in Image

"Guitar and case were appraised at $1250.00 last year."

Sure they were...

Just a clarification; unless I'm missing something, the seller has plenty of history.

But on the same subject, here's a home town favorite who knows how to price his goods:

I told you I had no life....yes, the seller has feedback.

I didn't mean Laptop, I meant Lap Steel (Can you tell what I did all day Image)

In spite of all my misinformation, it's still a great fight!!

One of the Champ bidders is also bidding on a champion. Maybe he just hit the lottery.

Ideas. Recruit your friends to bid on stuff to 1) jack the price up, 2) feign high value, or 3) put the item back in your hands because you didn't get the selling price you were hoping for.

Jeff, isn't that the gcrep manifesto?

There's noway it's a mid '50s with that brown tolex case...a '59 at best.
Look at this other Champ that recently sold for $1,035 on eBay! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33039&item=7306221569&rd=1
Certainly not a "mid '50s" with that black tolex case, maybe a mid-60's or '70s.

Unbelievable! I paid $50 for my Champion and $75 for my Champ. Mind you, that was in a former millennium . .

Idiotic.

Idiotic indeed. I paid $100 for a champ last year. Legs were missing, but still a good deal.
