Man, that gal blew me away doing This is a Man's World. She did a great job of doing "James Brown." |

Dayna,
I agree! I admire the talent it took to pull that off (which truthfully, at the begining I didn't expect her to be able to pull it off). That was the unexpected highlight of the whole show for me.

And, Justin Timberlake playing piano, writing and arranging his own material. The problem is not that some of these kids are untalented, it's that the pop machine makes it so hard to find out, and then to let them do what they're really passionate about. John Mayer started as a teeny-pop singer, and he's fighting the machine to play rock guitar - Brad Paisley & Keith Urban are doing the same thing in country, maybe there's hope after all? (Maybe it has something to do with declining sales, too - like, the vapid phony trash-music isn't working anymore? Where is Britney these days, anyway? {meow}) |

Ya, the highlight of the show for me too, and I missed at least half of it. Came back in the room and couldn't believe it. When she was done they were panning the audience and you could see Marty Chick mouthing the word WOW. |
