If you're referring to the Wayne Hancock original recording, I thank you for the compliments on my playing! 
I recorded it with a Fender Dual Professional non-pedal steel, C6 tuning, into a Fender Princeton Reverb amp.
Hank Williams III also recorded it, but I'm unaware of the steel player or the version, if that's the one you're asking about.

I really like the warm sound of your steel on Wayne Hancock's recording of this song, do you have a 15" speaker in your Princeton?
Being a new young steel player thats the sound I am looking to achieve. Thanks for inspiring a young player.

| The last band i was in was a 50s country band and we did this song from time to time. This one was tied with Hank Williams' Ramblin' Man for my favorite cover song. I love the progression. |

The Hank III CD list Kayton Roberts, Paul Franklin and Dan Dougmore as steelers . I think it might be Kayton Roberts.
But I could be wrong...still a nice job whomever it was. Herbs work on the Wayne Hancock CD is superb as allways. And Kieth,
Herbs sound on anything is the sound were all trying to achive!!  ( though most of us like me, fail miserably)

The amp is a plain ol' 1965 Princeton Reverb with stock maroon/gold label 10" Fender speaker.
If it sounds good, it's because Lloyd Maines really knows his recording stuff. Fred Remmert was the recording engineer, incidentally. One of the most proficient studio owners in Texas, IMHO.
