It appears to be a Deluxe 8 but with some modifications. Any thoughts? Click Here

I would think that it was originally part of a multi-necked instrument that they dismantled. They probably added the controls to that neck & made 1 or 2 singlenecks that are just plug & play without those pesky tone & volume controls.

That's just my theory though.

Looks like 1 neck of a Dual or T8.

A block of wood has been added to the body to house the volume & tone controls. The control plate is a fabrication. The tuners are mis-matched, junky non-originals. This might make a good practice guitar, if it sounds good, but I wouldn't pay over $150 for it.

I notified this seller over a week ago that this was a non-original parted-out piece of a multi-neck instrument. He replied that he had been meaning to edit his auction listing and thanked me for the reminder. Then he did nothing. Glad nobody was duped, but there's still time...

I agree with the above posts on it being non-original. More of a "Frankensteel"(thanks Rick for the pix) Cool

but...the pup is worth at least $150, knobs another $50 or more and if any of the other electronics are original maybe another $100+. If you really like it, I'd might go as high as $400 just for the parts but you should ask the seller a few more questions before you bid Exclamation

If I were buying it for parts I'd want to know the DC resistance of the pickup before bidding. It might need to be rewound. Also, the pots are probably new replacements, considering the new construction on that part of the body. And the knobs might be new 'vintage style' replacements. Someone has done a lot of cobbling, and I think buying this lap steel (even for parts) without knowing more details is risky.
