I'm ready to spend a little money on a Weissenborn. I've been reading in the archives about different Weissenborn builders trying to decide on a model to go with.
I was hoping some of you out there that have purchased a weissenborn copy could chime in on your likes/dislikes of the models available.
Also, will there be any brands represented at the Dallas show this weekend?
thanks for your help,
Todd |

I have a Lazy River Weissenborn and will take delivery on a baritone Celtic Cross in a few days. I can let you know the differences when I get it, but the Lazy River is very nice. I started working on a recording of it which I'll post if I get it done in time. |

Todd,
I have a Superior model Weissenborn. I really like it after I had the string spacing narrowed down. For the life of me, I don't know why they come with such a wide string spacing. It is a beautiful looking and sounding guitar. They run about a $1,000.00 new.

Todd,
I own two “Celtic Cross” weissenborns, a 25” scale and a 30”baritone, both are amazing instruments. I’ve owned two original weissenborns in the past and neither played or sound as good as my “Celtic Cross” instruments. Neil at “Celtic Cross” is great to deal with, and the pricing is excellent. Neil sent me some pictures the other day of a newly launched Tasmanian black wood 25” scale instrument and it’s by far the loveliest weissenborn I’ve ever seen, truly a work of art. Bill

The Superior is made of quality materials and is great sounding. The spacing is per David Lindly's setup was the story I was told by the store in Berkely. There were some fine-detail issues but tweek the nut and bridge and this is a nice guitar for the money, speruce top ones are loud. I switched to reso as the weiss is too clean a sound for an old blues-hound like me. |

I've owned a Bear Creek Weissenborn-style hollowneck since 1997 and couldn't be happier with it. Add in a set of Newtone Aloha strings and it smokes most others I've played. An original Weissenborn offers a more etherial sound. |
