Hi All, I've recently purched a resonator guitar and was wondering if there any courses available to learn country and bluegrass licks and fills . I would appreciate any help. I don't think there is another dobro within 1000 miles of me.

Check out Homespun Music - they have a great selection of all kinds of instructional materials. Cindy Cashdollar and Rob Ickes are a great couple of courses for newbies. Jerry Douglas also has a great course, but more advanced. Good luck!

Hi Don
from my point of view I'd get the DVD's from Jimmy Heffernan.

Then get Homespun tapes by Ickes, Phillips, Cashdollar and Douglas.

Then get Orville Johnson and Ivan Rosenberg DVDs from Learn Roots Music.

In regard to books it's Stacey Phillips all the way The Complete Dobro Player and/or The Dobro Book. Any or all of these (I almost have them all) will set you right for years to come and then find a jam.

Regards
Hussein

Geoff, here's another link to check out. Janet Davis Music is a good place to shop for all things related to acoustic instruments.
