Al;
Files need an extension to identify their opener. For most common Windows audio files that extensions are: .wav , .mp3 , or .wma . Try adding one of those extension to your renamed files. One of them is bound to work. E.g: track1.wav, or track2.mp3, or track3.wma.

Gotta go pick now.

Hey Al--it depends on what file type it originally was---.wav won't do you any good if that's not what it originally was. So if .wav isn't working (make sure you've got it right, with no space between the title and the .wav) then try a couple of others:
--try .mp3
--try .wma
--try .ra
Let us know if you have any luck.

To find some music that you don't remember what it was called, but you do know that you changed it in the last couple of weeks or so, try this:

Go to Search

Click 'Pictures, Music or Video'

Select 'Music'

Click 'Use Advanced Search Options'

Click 'When Was It Modified'

Select 'Within The Last Week', or 'Past Month'

Click 'Search'

Hope this helps Very Happy

Al, they are correct, you need to add the extension to the song but you need to know what type it was, as also noted.

Hi Guys, thanks for all the tips . I made a home recording on a cassette tape , many years ago called "I don't know why" and "What's New" (the one Linda Rhondstat sang). So I suppose it is a Wav file? I'll try out the various options you gave me including a search and see how it goes...thanks again...al.Smile
