Aloha, Fellow Forumites.
I have put up a Beginners guide to lap steel building at:
http://www.bluestemstrings.com/page5.html
It is designed as a guide to help folks that are considering constructing their first lap steel. Lots of general information, a complete PDF plan that you can use as is, or take to a local copy shop for a full size drawing. There is also a short MP3 of various pickup types to help in the selection process. I have included basic tunings and string guages, but since I don't use some of the tunings listed I would appreciate any feedback as to corrections that should be made in the tunings & string guage recommendations for the 22-1/2" scale used in the plan.
Thanks! _________________ www.Bluestemstrings.com |

Thanks for the compliments. If it inspires someone to start down the path of a love of the lap steel then I've done my job! _________________ www.Bluestemstrings.com |
