Ok, Rick Aiello started this one. I first heard this tune on the steel guitar when he posted it on the Internet a few years ago. Since then Chuck Lettes recorded it. Now it's my turn.

Indian Love Call - Gerald Ross

This song is made for the steel. I'm using my 1935 Bakelite Rick in C6, my Talsma tenor uke and my D'Angelico New Yorker archtop guitar. Band In A Box provides the bass.

The song was debuted by Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald in the 1930's movie "Rose Marie".

Revivatized in the late 50's by Slim Whitman.

And saved the world in the 1996 Tim Burton movie...

Hi Gerald,
Another fine recording. I especially like the uke parts. Let's do a duet of the tune in Joliet next year.

Very nice Gerald. It made me forget about the two feet of snow outside.

I want to hear that duet with Chuck too.

Way cool! I love the "pop" you get on your attack. Really nice 2-part harmonies... parts that someone would actually sing... that's something I'd like to incorporate into my own playing.

By the way, Nelson Eddy has surprisingly good technique with the paddle (relaxed at the elbow, not stroking with the arm).

Thanks for posting this song. I slowed it down on my Windows Media and was able to figure most of it out last night. I plan on working on the rest after supper. You are right, it's a good song for steel in C6.
