(Should maybe post in 'Wanted To Buy'...?)

I need to track down one of the little white plastic caps that screw the old National Grand Console pickup covers in place.

The guitar is the same as the T-8 here: http://www.notecannons.com/Double%20&%20triple%20neck%20lap%20steels.htm

My friend and I were putting some new tuner buttons on my T-8... then we got into the whiskey... and I managed to pop the cap off, right into the sewer drainpipe.

I guess there's a lesson in there... somewhere...

Dewayne, I'm not sure about white ones, but I have seen the black version at Lowes in the "hard to find parts" department.

Does anybody know of a source for replacement fret boards? I have one odd ball on my T8.

Larry-- on a different topic, does your T8 have a significant difference in output between the three necks?

The further away the neck is, the louder and fuller it sounds.

I've connected an ohm meter to each pickup and the jack, and the output is the same across the board.

It was suggested to me that putting in a new selector switch might solve it, but I haven't tried that yet.

Dwayne, Mine as pretty consistent on all three necks. The tunings I use are A6, E13 , and B6. Each of these tunings has a different sound, however the output appears to be very close, if not the same. Another thing you may want to try is making sure all the joints are soldered properly. The amphenol jack that was standard equipment on the Nationals can also cause some problems. I re-soldered all the connections on my National, and replaced the amphenol connector with a standard ¼” jack. Good luck

Thanks. Yeah, I guess it's time to open it up again... maybe without the whiskey this time.

The jack has been converted to ¼"... I love the tone of the guitar, and the pickups are virtually noiseless... once I get the tone knob reversed and the neck output balanced, I'll be pretty happy.

Oh yeah ...and that little cap.

Thanks Max, but I was too late. The auction ended.
