Here's a picture of my CAD drawing for the "Long Pan".

I have factored in the "Shrinkage Factor" ... so the finished product will have a 25.5" scale.

It will have "scalloped" frets and a slotted headstock ...

The only "consession" is that the headstock will have to be flat (same plane as the neck) ...

I'm limited in volume and this rascal will be pushing the limits of my furnace/crucible ... as it is.

I have run side by side recorded comparissons of my "new" A25 vs ...

... my Dustpan with H-Shoes and my Dustpan with an MRI Pickup.

The A25 isn't as "alive" as the Dustpans ... but it's sustain is very close ...

And since they have a 22.25" scale ... a 25.5" ... will be "Da Bomb".

Rick, what is your plan for scalloping the frets? The rest of the mother would be as easy as pie.

Rick,

Seems to me that the down-pressure of an angled headstock would be well made up for by your horizontal tuners and NUT HEIGHT.

Terry ... I take it you got the email with the real CAD drawing.

I was gonna set in ... at the fretline ... a thin piece of sheet steel ... to height.

Then "ramp" up the sides with a polymer ... and sand smooth and even.

Then seal everything with polyurethane (protect it all from the oiled sand).

Folks ... Terry F. is "in charge" of the 8-10 string "Mother" ...

I certainly see and understand that most everyone wants 8 strings ... So Terry is "on the case" now.

Denny ... I think so ... seems like all modern steels and PSG are flat at the headstock ...

I do like a High Nut .. ... so I figure you will be right.

It just looks cool ... bendin' back ... but I'm limited to about 1 gallon of molten aluminum ...

So somethin's gotta give.
