Lately I've been putting many of my CD's onto my hard drive. Ripping them on there thru SB Audigy II.
And so most get listed as Track 1; Track 2 etc.

So I went to rename the 'tracks' to the actual name of the song
and I get the warning flag "if you change this file name, it may not open or operate properly".

What gives with this, anyway? I thought once on your HD, you could rename the file. Never seemed to have this problem in the past; or not to this extent.

Maybe somebody can clue me in here, show me a short cut, or explain what the heck's going on. Sure would appreciate some help.

Thanks...

If you rename that, don't change the file extension. e.g. if it's "Track 1.wav" and you change it to "song name.wav" you are OK but if just type in "song name" then you usually get the warning.

That did the trick.

Thanks again, Jack.

Wiz, you can shut down this one if you want.
