The last few days I have been arranging an old standard
" I Don't Why I Love You Like I Do " for both the Leavitt
and the Alkire/EHarp tunings. What a great exercise this has
been for me! A six string jazz tuning versus an all around
10 string "Whatever you want to play" tuning.
For the Leavitt offering I am using the six string BR-9 Gibson
six string. The Alkire offering is done on my acoustic Alkire
Guitar which I designed and had made by a friend carpendar a
few years ago.
The undernoted link plays the two in sequence,,, the Leavitt
first and then the Alkire.

I have never tried the Leavit tuning, but it sure sounds great from you Roy. That old BR9 sounded terrific, probably because of the player!!
The acoustic sound reminded me of a Zither somehow, very nice.

Probably not a real good comparison with the Alkire being
a home made steel. I have just been given a 10 string Fender and plan to use it as an EHarp Instrument.

My friend Curtis Rowe on the left and me on the right.

The Alkire tuning is amazing but it is much
more difficult to play. Especially if you attemp chord
melody approach. The Leavitt is great in that with
the technique in hand you can get most, if not all
the requirements on just six strings.

I love both and many thanks you guys for chiming
in. Am doing fine and start my treatments next week
which will take me into April. In the meantime I have
a whole lot of musical projects planned to help pass
the time.
