I played David's steel for about 20 minutes awhile back,
and this is a really cool set up!

As I read it, and this matches his verbal explaination,
it is an expansion of Reece's Bb6, but a bit more power.

It also seemed to me an inverse of the typical Uni tuning
in some respects.

To me it
starts jazzy and can go country,
vs
starts country and can go jazzy.
