Rolling Eyes Who played steel for the Wilburn brothers tv show? I missed most of those shows because I was busy entertaining with my group and didn't have much time to watch a lot of tv. Now it's catch up time in between recording sessions. Thanks for any and all help. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year, Rich

Three super steel players done that show, Hal Rugg, Curley Chalker, and Don Helms, they may have been more.

Some videos with Hal Rugg and Curly Chalker from the Wilburn Brothers Shows are also on YouTube - great stuff!

Kind Regards, Walter

Thank you very much, Fred and Walter for your response to my querie. The steel player that I saw was Curley Chalker. I didn't recognize him as he was so much younger back at that time. I met Curley in the nineties-he's a great loss. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, best regards, Rich Very Happy

Richard, if you are talking about last Thursday's show, it was indeed Curly. Chuck Lettes told me that Curly was very smooth and since I have heard the Wilburn's show, I sure agree. He merges one note into the next so smoothly!!
