Just returned from a trip to Norway for 2 weeks. These guitars belong to Steinar Schroder. Went through them and made sure they were adjusted properly and played them on a couple of gigs over there. Yes, sometimes doctors do make house calls!! LOL

Serial #'s 0219 D-11, 0822 SD-11, and 1108 D-10.

Not pretty (neither the steel nor the Steele), but I've been told by many other players that this guitar sounds amazing.
How long had those people been in the room with you and the guitar ? :lol: Love the wall paper. Almost looks real ? :roll:

The following is NOT my guitar. I do NOT know who owns it. I found it on Mullen's website. And to my eyes (except for one thing), it is THE most beautiful PSG I have ever seen.

Image

And IF the person who owns it has no objection, AND the Lord is willing, I am gonna git me one 'jes lack it! onlyst it will be an S-12 on a D-12 body with 8 and 9 with a white or black pad!

Wow that thang is gorgeous!

Wouldn't a red pad look better?

Well I been thinking very hard about that Alan. Not sure that a red pad wouldn't be too much red. Been thinking about a contrasting color; such as black or white for the pad.

Also, does anyone know if Mullen would put a NON colored fret board on it when he builds it? To my eyes, that colored fret board tends to clash with the over all color scheme that is so beautiful otherwise. But it may just be me.

And Skip, I say thank you so much. I would order one yesterday if I did not have my brand new (never played) Excel S-12. It will be for sale very shortly. I had hoped it would be the last guitar I ever bought, but because Mitsuo just did not understand what I wanted, (even on the second try), it is not what I can use. In NO way do I blame him. It is simply a language barrier, which he can not help, and he really does TRY to bend over backwards.

After studying the undercarriage of the Mullen G2, I can make it what I was going to do with the Excel. It is the ONLY other PSG that allows me to do it. Time will tell. Thanks again, friend.

I already sing & play 6 string guitar, harmonica & many other instruments and just starting out on pedal steel - learning plenty from the forum & it's great fun! Here's my (mainly English) setup:
Bennett D10 8x7 - 23 1/4" scale, versatile, stays in tune & sounds great.
Hiwatt DR-103 Custom 100W through Trace Elliot bass amp - using it as cab with 15" speaker. Sounds amazing & louder than 300W solid state! I have lots of amps/cabs and this sounds the best.
Fender solid state Deluxe 85 (great clean sound) for practice (& seat) with Sarno Black Box & experimenting with pedals.
Cheers
Trev

I love that Jackson! You are 100% right about those guitars-tone to the bone! Jacksons are wonderful guitars built by wonderful people!

Here are my four; First, a couple of shots of my clear lacquer Carter D10 with abalone inlays, ebony fret inlays and Alumitones;

and another close-up shot of those beautiful necks!

Image

My Fessenden D12 (9x9) was formerly owned by forum-member Cameron Parsons, this photo is one of his from when he had it for sale in the forum since I have no shots of it at home...it's set up as my practice steel;

Image

and my beautiful black mica Mullen Royal Precision D10 came from the great Al Brisco in Canada, I am one lucky steeler to have snaffled this Black Beauty! This is the photo from his website - one look and I was in love!

Image

I also have a restored Marlen D10 (pull-release) bought via the forum from Gary Sill. This is one photo from Gary's advert on the forum before I bought it:

Image

Guess I need to get some more up-to-date photos! Hope I haven't offended anyone by using their published photos, which I am happy to acknowledge as their original works.

Don't get me started on my little collection of acoustics, and a couple of Teles as well!! I'm sticking to the steel-guitar theme of the thread.
