Over the last thirty five years, I've had the the good fortune of working with or backing up some of the really great singers. Nat Stuckey was probably the best singer ever, Paycheck in the early years was awesome and I've always enjoyed the Opry's Ray Pillow. Darrell McCall not bad either.

In all honesty though, I have never enjoyed playing for anyone more than Laney Hicks. It may be that she is a truly great singer,it may be that we share the same taste in music, or it may be that she is the one person I've seen who might enjoy it as much as I do. Well, almost. And her steel player's not too bad either.


P.S. Marco, have you just lately started dreaming about Dolly?
