Not sure who did this one, Petula Clack I think. The song is Downtown.
Seems like they say the word "Downtown" about a 1,000 times.
DOWNTOWN! downtown,downtown,downtown.

Two songs that will make me slap the power button to off quicker than anything are "wasted days and wasted nights" and "thank God I'm a country boy".
I now keep the live at panther hall tape ready to go and just push it in when a ghastly song comes on the radio. The tape is really getting a lot of play time these days!

Mike - Bird is the Word - already mentioned on 5/6, BUT, that's TWO votes against that one. My glass is half full ......

I know I've been on here once already for Supertramp, but how about "Havin' My Baby." Don't think I need to say anything more.

okay, as a housepainter in the daytime, i have to defend my noble profession. for years i've been hassled at construction sites for playing bob wills, charlie parker, monk, andy statman, etc. i once had a guy walk up and kick my stereo over and yell " it ain't music if there ain't singin!" (he calmed down when i asked him if he thought he could swallow the stereo whole)
in general, radio music at construction sites is awful, with the dj's patter between songs even worse than the bad songs.

I like some of the songs mentioned earlier, but to each his own!
The one I hate is "You Light up my Life" - who was this done by?? Debbie Boone, Debbie Gibson?? Whoever?? I got sick of it after the 1st 3 times they played it on the radio, and I swear it was played about every other song when it was number 1 on the charts.

Nobody has yet mentioned my top two nominations for "Song Turkey of All Time:"
I've got a brand new pair of roller skates, and My Ding-a-ling... The pits!!!

I'm also in the construction business, and the trouble with the music at the sites is; [1]it's blaring.[2]any more than one radio/cd player and you have mass cacaphony.[3]and most of the content stinks. I'm actually against music on a construction site. You have to be able to communicate with your partners and co-workers. If not, then time is wasted and maybe even injuries could result. Time is money.
Anything by Celine Dionne, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey - hand me the earplugs!

Chip, it's both funny and sad about these three ladies.
I love their voices, and hate the productions they are put to use in.

Dave,
No one will argue that they have "voices", but they all SCREAM - SHRILL SOUNDS - very unmusical to my peasant ear. Some people say they sing with soul. I don't know who soul is, but I sure don't see her, or hear her. IMO.

Another song that came to my mind is 'Short People' by Randy Newman. I hated it the first time I heard it.
