BJS, you're right we who play the bar have a winner, and better yet the steel guitar community has a WINNER in BJS. Thanks for the efforts.

Well, the contest was a lot of fun. [ till I lost, ha, ha.] But as someone has said, we are all winners in getting to use Bill's fine bars. Congratulations to the winners and thanks Bill for making a great bar. George Macdonald

Mr.Stroud, I've just been reading all the wonderful things these guys have been saying about your bars (and you!). I have a few Ernie Ball bars. They advertise two weights - 6.3 oz and 7.8. But the two Ernie Balls of mine that have the most sustain turn out to weigh 10 oz! What's the weight of your standard bar? Thanks. Tony.

Tony,
I've been stocking BJS Bars for 19 years in my little shop, since Hal Rugg played at my Festival in 1986, and sang the praises of these great bars. I have been using one myself (7/8-inch) for all that time, too and I still use the same bar I first had - it still looks as good as the first day I bought it. It weighs 9.5 oz.
About a year ago I bought a 15/16-inch bar and I love that, too. It weighs 10 oz.

Well Hall Tyler got him a new BJS Bar with his Birthstone at the Al show this pass weekend, they had a wonderful show from what I'm hearing, maybe I can be at the next one?
Also they had a drawing on winning a new bar for the door prize, and no one has come forth with who you are,
Also Boby Lee has one coming I need to hear from you guys. email

I just bought an 8 string BJS bar from Gerry. I like the slightly elongated nose shape, and the finish really is top notch. Only thing is that the thumb indent on my Burden bar is easier for me to use, but I don't think the BJS indent is an issue.

Hi Bobby Lee you never emailed me for your bar of your choice? Let me know what you want along with your mailing address.
Thanks,

Thanks to all that entered in the contest, and for using the BJS bar.

Sorry for the slow response. I couldn't be any more happy with my BJS if I'd picked it out myself! I LOVE this bar! It's sooo much smoother than the Dunlop I was using. But don't let Leon Champion fool you, he may use BJS, but he REALLY likes those Dunlop's.
Leon is a good guy and so is Mr. Stroud. I am tickled with my bar, and love the look of my birthstone in it.
I was suprised at the Alabama show with a new BJS 7/8" birthstone. I don't know of very many people who would just give someone a bar! I am proud to use BJS bars. Anyone who hasn't got one, or has never tried one needs to get ahold of one. Thanks Bill & Leon.

Tyler, it's a pleasure to help someone like you, although we've never met it seems like I know you because of all my friends talking about you on this forum. This is a great place to meet people. Maybe someday we can meet. Why don't you get some of the Al pickers to come up next April 4th at the NTSGA in Nashville Tn, I'll be there with all the gang and then we can meet each other.Get with old Leon Champion he'll come up.
See Ya,
Bill

Hi Bill,
Maybe you ought to run a contest on the Christian Steel Board too. As you know, I'm the one who started that forum, and won't be nearly as hard to get ahold of as b0b is when it's time for MY free 15/16ths bar!
Seriously, I want to get one of your bars soon. Obviously they are nothing short of fantastic!!!

Hi Lem, well the contest was for everyone that uses the BJS Bar, the guy that won the oldest bar was a Pentecostal Preacher, so you see it was for all.
But what is your web site?
Thanks,
Bill

Bill, of course I was kidding, because you hadn't been able to get ahold of b0b yet.
"My" website that I was referring to, is the Christian Steel Guitar Message Board. I'm the person who created that board a few years back. I've seen you post there, but don't think we've ever "talked" there though.
Anyway, hope you have a good day, and I am serious about wanting to try one of the bars you make before long. Such customer testimonials are quite convincing!!!

Hi Lem,
I'm so busy these days it seems like I don't have the time to do anything, I will get back on your forum and talk about our good and Faithful Savior that we are playing for, God is Good.
Try the bar anytime that you want, I think you will like it.

I ordered a brand new 15/16” BJS 10-str. Tone~Bar yesterday. The best tone I ever had with my PSG was with a 15/16” 10-str. bar!

do the 8 string bars have an indent in the end for your thumb?

I own a BJS bar and I'm very pleased with it. So pleased that I wanted a good friend to have one. So I order him one from Bill and it was here in three days. Thanks Bill for a great product and for being a friend. Lord bless you real good.

btw, I switched to a 15/16 a while back and really like the feel of it. I have no plans to go back to a 7/8. Don't know if it has any thing to do with tone or not, because I don't have another BJS to compare it with. But I did a A/B comparison with another brand 7/8 bar and could tell the difference in tone. The BJS IS better!

Funny, I replied to both BJS Posts 24-hrs. ago, but; neither one has shown! Anyway, I have a new 15/16” 10-str. ordered! Best sound I ever had!

Hi everyone keep a close watch after Tuesday night when John Hughey gets his new 15/16 string bar custom weighted to weight the same as the 7/8" bar, both the 12 string. I've a;ready got a folder to keep the request that's wanting a bar for the 12 and 10 string bars. So add your name to the list by emailing me at
bjsbars@frontiernet.net and when I start making them I'll let you know when they are ready to ship.
I've played the bar it feels just right, the tone is still there. It's good on the up tempo songs.

<SMALL>Hi Bobby Lee you never emailed me for your bar of your choice? Let me know what you want along with your mailing address.</SMALL>
I have two already - don't need another. Your bars are the best, Bill. They ring out that classic country sound like no other, and they are virtually indestructible.
I don't really need another. Thanks for the offer.

Bobby Lee,
I'll keep one open for you anytime you might one, and my guess is you will want the 15/16" lighter bar later on down the road, and it will be available for you for your asking.
Thanks,
Bill
