Tommy Killen's Sho-Bud, (assuming he'd part with it for, say. $500,000) with lots of lessons Image
[This message was edited by Ray Minich on 30 November 2005 at 08:55 AM.]

I would have John Coop redo ALL the mechanics on my PRO II Custom and have the Cabinet refinished in Gretsch Orange or Classic Sho-Bud Red.
I would buy a Desert Rose D-10 to play while that work is being done, and a black MSA Millenium D-10 for travelling.
Also, a Fender Stringmaster D-8 for non-pedal work.
I would also buy some cool old Standel and Fender amps.

I would have Ron Jr. build me a new PP, hire someone to carry it to some club, then try to hire Ray Price to sing while I sit in with the band. Of course I'd probably have to sign an agreement with Ray that none of it would be recorded.

You've just won the lottery. Which steel?

All of them. I'd buy every steel in the known world. That way I really could be the best steel player in the whole world. If anybody told me I wasn't, I'd ask them to find somebody who could play better, oh wait! NOBODY CAN, because I own all the steels!

Man I think I have mental problems.... Wonder if Farris and Jennings will let me use their psychiatrist. I've got the money, I just won the lottery!

I'd probably try a Pro-Mat. And have my Sho Bud rebuilt with Coop parts. Two steels is enough. Oh, wait--I lied. I'd want one of those new MSA Superslides too!

I don't know who it was, but a few years ago somebody bought 9 differnet steels, tried them all out, kept the one he liked the best, and sold off all the others.

All I know is who got the Fessy.

If I won the lottery, I would spend it all on wine, women and song and whatever's left would be spent on frivolous stuff like steel guitars.

Cops aren't paid much so I steel at night.

Ya know,,,, I don't think I'd get another steel. This year I treated myself to a Ricky Davis/John Coop ShoBud, and with my Kline U-12, I can't imagine bein' any more satisfied. I'd buy a street rod and have some fun!

I sent mine straight to Ricky. John Coop sent the parts to him.
