My dear friend Toby Keith did a great job in singing two George Jones songs in respect to him at Stagecoach here in Southern California on 4/26/2013. " She thinks I still Care " & " The Race is on ". RIP Brother and thanks for the memories you gave me here on this earth with you. The God Father Of Southern California Country Music,Uncle Leo J.Eiffert,Jr. :(

Thank you George, for all the music. My favorite song is You and Me and Time. The duet he did with his daughter. I lived that song with my daughter. George and Georgette got me and my daughter back together again. My thoughts and prayers are with Nancy and Georgette at this time. Nancy, thank you for getting him turned around. You were the ROCK that he leaned on.

As I'm sure was the case all over this country this past Saturday night, our band declared it George Jones night. Almost every second song was a Jones song. Several of our singer friends who knew we were going to do this, came by and joined in. On more than a few occasions, I looked around at my bandmates and they were wet-eyed as I was. I have never experienced this on a bandstand. George Jones' influence on American music cannot be fathomed. He should be remembered with the likes of Al Jolson, Bing Crosby, Jimmie Rodgers and any you can name who were music personified.

Someone on talk radio said Frank Sinatra once called George Jones the second greatest singer in the world...he was in a position to know of what he spoke !!

Was listening to Georges funeral services today at the Opry and it was said he was a person who could sing a song that would rip your heart out of you and then hand it to you. I thought if fit him perfect. He was definately a one-of-a-kind and will be missed by every Country Music Fan.

For those of you who weren't able to attend the memorial service and funeral, and that includes most of us, there are a lot of postings on YouTube worth watching.

RIP Mr. Jones, you made so many happy in your life time.
DLD, Chili farmer. Plus bananas and papaya too.

Real happiness has no strings attached.
But pedal steels have many!

It was a VERY sad day to hear he had died. May God comfort his family.

George, Merle, and Marty were Roy's favorites too....and mine!

We lost one of the world's greatest country singers.

Laurie
