Hey Joey,
we've got lots of family on my wife's side in Hamilton, Dundas and Ancaster. My wife grew-up in the Hammer, good friends with the old Teenage Head crowd, Tim Gibbons, Dave Rave, etc. Do you know these folks? Hamilton's a great town, but it sure gets cold there.

I was born in New Port, R.I., while my father was stationed there, but I grew-up in Palo Alto and San Francisco. I had the great fortune as a child of seeing a lots of very good live music in the La Honda area, P.A., Menlo Park, Golden Gate Park, etc. Commander Cody, New Riders, Dan Hicks, Elvin Bishop, etc., all of the 60's/70's northern California hippy country stuff. KFAT radio :o anyone remember KFAT? And later into the early S.F. punk scene, places like The Temple Beautiful (next door to the People's Temple  ), Mabuhay Gardens, Club Foot........anyone remember this......(I bet b0b does :) )
Now I live on an avocado and mushroom farm in the hills south-east of Los Angeles. It's very quiet and peaceful here, but lately it's been way too hot.
Cheers!

I live mainly in Southampton, UK, although like Gus York in the above post I also have a home in Devon. That's where I will retire in a year or so. In the 70's, we had 12 steel players within a 10 mile radius in Southampton. Now we just have 2 of us.

Born in Toronto, but living in The National Capital Region (Ottawa) for the last 28 years. Below is a picture of people skating on the Rideau Canal close to our Parliament Buildings.

For a region of 1 million, I only know of 2 other steel players in the area. There has to be some other ones hiding in the woodwork!

The Ottawa Valley is known for its love of country music.

I was born, raised, & educated in Vancouver, BC. After finishing at UBC, I moved to Ontario as a fisheries biologist. After 4 years, I returned back to BC to teach biology & have lived in North Vancouver for the last 30 years. Professional steel guitarists I know in this area include Art & Lorene Ruymar, Ian Stewart, John Cadeau, Michael Flunkert, Len Ryder (who I first saw when I was in Sr. high school), and my steel teacher, Elizabeth West.

Indian Territory Oklahoma. I was the last family member born on my grandfather's original homestead in old Greer County that was a land grant from Indian territory.

I forgot to add that my maternal grandmother was a full blood choctaw who voluntarily moved to Oklahoma when the tribe was under extreme pressure to reclocate.
