Does a less cluttered undercarriage produce better tone?

Great post Chris.

It takes me back to my original post on this thread that removing 2 levers (from a Crawford cluster) on my push-pull seemed to improve the tone.

Your theory has merit, and you have have very good knowledge of push-pull construction.
