Corky Tittle Was The First Drummer I ever Worked With.

Corky Tittle Was The First Drummer I ever Worked With And He has been the reason I fired So Many Drummers in my Career, None of the rest of them could ever measure up. Corky Came to visit me this last year and I hadn't seen him since 1968. We had a great 3 day visit and Talked about picking again. We thru the magic of the internet was able to get him back in touch with Hank Corwin. He spent last Christmas with Hank and I would have loved to been a Fly on the wall.
Corky is not only a Drummer, he is a superb entertainer. Corky and I worked in a sailor bar in key west named the Golden Nugget and due to the serious lack of women, the favorite game was trash the band with insults. I probably took them personal, but Corky went head to head with them and actually enjoyed it. I believe that was the Start of him becoming a terrific Entertainer.
Hank Corwin is a Master Musician in all senses of the word and So is Corky. You folks have a big treat coming, wish I could be there.

Man I'm gettin excited about Feb 21 2009. I told a group tonight i played steel with about Mr Herbie Wallace being with us at Gulfport. I lost my good Sony camera, I love to get pictures of the musicians. My wife hid my camera from the grandchildren at Christmas and now she can't remember where she hid the thing. Oh well' i'm sure mitsy will be taking pictures of the show. hope to see everyone again.

R.J., sure hope you are back home by then. And, we have had to move our Friday Nite Frolic to the VFW due to our music room in my home not being big enough to hold all the folks comfortable. Hope you can bring your band with you on Friday night too....and a large pot of your famous gumbo would make us all stop picking and start grinning in earnest. Stay safe when you go into the frozen country.
DSSG now plays on Friday, 20th of Feb. from 7 pm till- and due to the number of players on the program Saturday, 21 Feb., we will have to start at 10:00 AM... Growing more every event. Thanks to you all. Looking forward to seeing and hearing Scotty, Mitsuo Fujii, Herby Wallace, Hank Corwin, Corky Tittle, Buck Grantham, Billy Carr, Romeo Sullivan(CW DJ Hall of Fame member). Romeo will have his pick of steel players for his program during the afternoon. MC duties are his also so we are in good hands with Ben O'Dell overseeing all of us.
Anxious to see and hear Gordon Dodson again. Gordon will have Jean Dodson, his 11 year old niece on her steel to really excite all of us. Special treat in store with Winston Street and Julie Street. Winston is one of the very, very few who plays steel either right or left handed. Julie sings like there is no tomorrow and is as good as any I have ever heard-sincere feelings and finese in her vocals. (Dottie West has had to "move over" for Julie on my favorite listings). Cayla Ann Kelton will bring "Miss Mini Minnie" with her. Cayla's rendition of "American, The Beautiful" will warm all your goozles more than once.

Just confirmed that DSSG and our audience will be enhanced with the piano talents of ROY ROSETTA. Always subject to change of course, as with all our players due to higher paying jobs that come alone. But, as of today, Roy is planning on being here. Hooray! Having Little Joe and Roy sharing the piano section in our on stage band will be just the best there is.
And, Bob Saxton is recovering from his surgery and will be hard to keep down too. Still more news on the way too.

For a couple of days there, I thought the next person that walked into the room would have a toe tag in their hand.
