Burr Brown mod for Peavey NV1000 Amps

Post by Roger Peterson »

Ken,
Regarding Burr Brown mod for NV1000. I have my NV1000 up for sale because I wasn't satisfied with the tone or sound. I was looking for a more mellow or softer sound. I went and bought a Fender tube looking for that sound. I went to the electronics section as you mentioned, looking for discussions and after searching 9 pages I gave up. Is this mod something that might spark some new interest for me on my NV1000? I like the amp but just couldn't come to terms with it's harsh bright sound. I'd like to read the discussions on this if I could find them. In the mean time would you email me the $ and any info that might interest me. Thanks.

Mod for 1000

Post by Daniel J. Cormier »

The Mod made my 112 a more well rounded amp. The big complaint I had with the 112 and 1000 was that they had to much high end bite and not enough low and mid low. Install the mod kit and problem solved, Even had better reverb low responce.
This is a mod you can do your self .Ken sends the instructions with the chips.

I purchased a Nashville 112 from Clyde Mattocks with the the Burr-Brown chips installed. I liked the sound, so I ordered a set of chips for my Nashville 1000. How's this for service:
I emailed Ken early evening for price & delivery
Ken responded 10:47 pm with price & delivery
I ordered at 12:08 am using pay-pal
Ken emailed me that they would go out priority mail that day.
I received the chips 2 days later and installed them.

Thanks Ken!

Thanks, Glenn! I am still a believer in old fashioned service. We try to get one day service on all sales and most repairs as well.

I received my BB Chips from Ken on Tuesday, July 23 and I installed the kit in about 10 min.

More warmer tone and less background noise.

Thank's Ken

No kit for the Vegas 400. I do offer an intense mod that replaces around 45 parts in the amp. I can do those with typically a 1 day turn around.
