Iv'e played the Sho-Bud pro ll since '76 . Al Brisco did a great job making some updates in '96 . The pickups are from the "Pope of pickups" Bill Lawrence. Some other guitars I have are easier to play but my band loves the clasic sounds of the Sho-Bud . For recording and live pickin', I feel more expressive on the Sho-Bud than the easier to play 'modern' pedal steels . I'll be over playin' at the moose Club Friday !:

What's your main steel
I,play Emmons Stereo Steel,3&4 ,sd10,with pad ,designed like an Emmons Fatback,Emmons skh,fret board,changer ,machined polished neck,pedalboard,pedals&pedalrods,All Sho-Bud under -carriage(bellcranks),pull system,crosshafts etc.Black gloss mica,Emmonslegs¬ sure of end plates,It has has a decal that,I,& others have seen before.Well-made in a shop according to Bob Knight of Bowling Green Ky.Have owned many brands including A s10,Sho-Bud(Baldwin)that had a solid copper -neck,Gibson s8,4pdl,Emmons sio,3&2,zb,d10 8&2(I,gigged it 30yrs)& Carter d10,8&5(great steel).This Emmons Stereo has a great tone&cabinet drop is excellent.

Favorite Steel
I have two Sho-Buds. A Professional and a Super Pro. I like them both, but play the Super Pro more because it is lighter and has more peddles. Also have a new GFI and it plays great but still like the Sho-Bud sound.

I have two Zumsteels D10 9/7 one Zum with Humbucker pickups for studio and another Zum with WTT singlecoil pickups - great great guitars both.
