They say banjo music sounds repetitive......those last three posts show banjo CRITICISM can be repetitive

Check out this psuedo scientific study.. I quote

"The most unwanted music is over 25 minutes long, veers wildly between loud and quiet sections, between fast and slow tempos, and features timbres of extremely high and low pitch, with each dichotomy presented in abrupt transition. -so banjo is up there amongst everyones least favorite instruments, just above accordian and bagpipes..haha. Notice the most unwanted lyrics are about cowboys and holidays. I was surprised to hear people dont want lyrics about cowboys, but maybe they meant the football team?

In space, no-one can hear you play the banjo.

On the other hand, if they broadcast it through the built-in headphones in the space suit you have no option but to listen, since you can't take your helmet off !

That is too funny Steve.. if a banjo is played on the moon, in a vacumn and no one hears it, is it still too loud?

Hey guys, sorry about the repetitive opinions about the banjo, can't seem to get the computer to delete two them. Us older folks aren't whizzes on these things so you'll have to bear with us. Thanks Bob for sticking up for us steel players. If you play banjo, good for you, I applaud your determination to learn another instrument. However a banjo remains an instrument that belongs in bluegrass music period. If you want to include that into country music for whatever reason you choose to, be my guest. However a banjo is an instrument of stuff and you can spell stuff anyway you want. Thank You.

Paddle faster...I think I hear banjo music!

Banjos don't cost as much as steel pedals do. I had a dream that I died and went to heaven, and they don't play the harp in heaven...they play the banjo. The reason I knew I was in heaven was because it was in tune!
Everyone knows I play the banjo cause I took a lot of slack about it when I played it for 22 seconds at the ISGC last year in 2005. But there was one older lady in Ohio who said she really liked it.
But I do have banjo (5-string) on all my CDs...maybe that's why they don't sell good??
Corn fused...but I've only lost 6 teeth so far so I still have 2 left!

Perhaps the "slack" took place in the Fender Room? Fender had a banjo on display in their room, you should have seen the memorable looks my buddy and I got while we test drove that banjo....for 45 minutes.... I played a few steel licks too and still got looks. Maybe said lookers were experiencing a blockage, not enough fiber from the previous day intake?
