Hi all. I qualify for the newbie club...
After many years on guitar, I'm a humble
beginner staring at a MSA s10.

I've been playing for 35 years but I've heard some "newbies" that could clean my clock.

I just joined. On the 18th of January to be exact.
I play a Fender D-8 pedal steel guitar. (2 pedals. I disconnected the other 6 because they are useless.)
I know all of you seasoned professionals will ask me why I chose to waste my time with such an instrument.
To put it bluntly: It's all that is needed. It's got the perfect sound. If I can't do it with 8 strings, why do it at all?
Right?

I'm not exactly new, I have been a forum member for 6 years. I took up steel the first time in 2001 but had to sell out after 6 months. Just bought a Carter Starter with the money I made at my New Years Eve gig, and here I go again. By Summer I'll have a pro model steel again and this time there will be no selling out!
I guess I'm RE-NEW. LOL.

Hi,
I've been a member for a couple years. Mostly on the non pedal side. Started getting fired up about pedals about 6 months ago. Still haven't got the right tone, but as I learn more, the less important that seems compared to getting the right pitch.

Been on the forum since June 2004. Met lots of nice folks here. I have been playing guitar and/or steel around Texas since the late '70's.

Been lurking for about 2 years, joined last week. I have played guitar (acoustic mainly) for a long time - started when I was 12/13, now I'm 52. Loved psg since hearing it the early 70's (Sneeky Pete, Lloyd Green, Pete Drake, Jay Dee Maness, Ben Keith, etc.). Finally got around to buying my Carter Starter about 18 months ago and love playing around with it. So I'm very much a beginner, and have learned much from this site. Putting it into practice... ..well I try
