I've just received an email from Mr. Scott and I believe I have his permission to put this entry on the Forum:
"About my misplacing or losing your nomination form for Julian - I thought that you might have put that on the forum."
Case closed and this is my last post on the subject. This too did not come from some damned remote computer out in space. You don't believe it, email Mr. Scott for his confirmation and I continue to believe that unconfirmed accusations should not keep individuals out of the HOF.

I received this email this AM and I'm complying with Mr. Scott's request.
"Hi Fred,

I am the person that submits the names and bio's to the Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame nominating board members and I have checked the year of 2003 and do not see the form you submitted for Julian. It is highly possible that I have misplace it or lost it as there was another name up for submission for 2004 and it never made it either. (Jummy Porter-was one of, it not the first, steel player for Hank Williams) The person that did that nominating has since resubmitted his induction information form.
Tom Bradshaw used only the information that he received both from me and our secretary. Our secretary at that time was Fred Layman. As I failed to to enter Julian that year, of course, Fred would not have a record of it. I would like for you to please resubmit that request to me again and I will personally see that it gets to the nominating committee at our next meeting. I apologize to you for this oversight and promise that it will not be misplaced again. Please submit it to by parcel post.

It doesn't sound like he actually 100% believes he lost it, just that he might have, and thinks he probably did as he seems unable to explain what happened to it.
Just my thought on the whole thing.
In regards to steel guitar shows, there was a Dallas one circa 1969, and Californian ones in 1968. Some guy named Tom Bradshaw had quite a lot to do with them, perhaps you've heard of him.
The mid 1970s shows, Scotty's and so on, were the boom era I'd say, the shows were bigger, recordings were made and more fusion of styles was evident, Julian was part of that scene and it was a big time for the industry in general.
On a side note, some of you guys should be ashamed of how much mud you're slinging 'in the name of Julian,' you do no-one a service.

Well said Jason; I don't like to see any undocumented defamatory allegations about anyone in any case here in this Forum in general. There can be the possibility, in some cases, where the accuser can and may have his or her own agenda for some reason. Where Julian is concerned, IMO, the man was one of the most fantastic speedpickers and he could play different styles so beautifully and I think he was a great pioneer of the psg. I hope that the focus will be on a musician's music in the future. I am grateful that he did what he did with and for the psg. I personally do not wish to offend anyone here; I am grateful to those with the talent and initiative that I am able to enjoy and I would like to always remain upbeat. Does anyone play well when they are depressed?

Yes, I agree with these last posters, I knew Julian very well. I was also in the ill fated "Nashville Steel Guitar Club" in 1970 as a charter member. I liked him as a player, I need no proof of anything in this argument. I was there and saw everything.
My posting any of it here would do no good to anyone including his family. It's just not a important thing anymore. His being in the HOF is not an important thing. All of us getting along, loving, and helping each other NOW and what's going on in this day and time is what's important. Let's try that.
Let's maintain what dignity the HOF might have left.
