A J's New Album

I think 2 posters recognized that the artist chose to do this. Isn't it plausible that AJ wants the jam on his album so HE can listen to it and enjoy it? The great playing becomes part of HIS catalog. Admittedly, the average fan does not like music jams, it appeals mostly to other musicians. Holly Dunn did the same thing on her Rio Grande album (80s) and it's a definite highlight with Sonny Garrish taking a turn.

I always considered it a nice compliment to the sidemen to let them show their creativeness and skills on a song or two, either as an instrumental or a longer vocal tune. Since I'm not a singer, I'll buy a CD for the instrumentation before I buy it for the vocalist.
A definite irk is when a vocalist sits in on a few tunes at a jam and doesn't let everyone take a ride. Gong!
