Anyway..Broadway is not a street..it's a way of life...

I would say that the Broadway life may exceed what I do as a fast talking sales dude..and I don't get any tips either...

My dad had an 1906 Pierce Great Arrow since before the war, and his 1st car a "T" till he passed on. Harrahs offered my mom $55,000 for the Pierce she turned em down.
Went to some one who really loved it.

So I really know what that Cord is.. and I'm droooolin' just thinkin' of it.

Tony. Yes it was a fire hydrant, but since I am involved in the building of the roads, I have a special exemption for all rules and regulations.

The PF CD set I got yesterday has been keeping me pretty busy. Lots of neat stuff.

I don't want to be accused of trying to be a "hot dog" so I'm only going to play the stuff I learn at Ballad Speed.

I should make a video of "How to get away with damn near anything hauling heavy equipment."

Gene. Yeah those boots were one of my prize posessions, and I kept them shined like he said.

Ran into a guy from Alasks some years ago with a ring made with globs of "dental gold". It was kind of creepy and I didn't ask a lot of questions....

Call be a little late to the party, but at $15-$30 per night I doubt that the competition would actually include players of John Hughey's stature.

Actually, the pickers down on Broadway do include the likes of John Hughey and Hal Rugg. However, I'm pretty sure the motivation for them is more about pickin' songs they enjoy, than for the money.

Still, if you wanted to play those jobs, to a degree, you are competing with these Hall of Famers. That isn't to say there isn't room for the rest of us...

Ron, you are WRONG. Broadway regulars incluce, Mike Sweeney, Tommy Hannum (Ricky Van Shelton band), Rusty Danemeyer (Lee Ann Womack), Carco Clave (Elizbeth Cooke), Gary Morse (Dwight Yoakam),and our own Terry
Wendt. Oh yeah, Sir John is at Legends nearly every week. Others also. They'll cut your privates off.

Last time I was on Lower Broad both John Hughey and Tommy Hannum were gigging.
Hughey was blowin' out some high caliber, high velocity C6th!
Hannum was jazzin it up on the money neck too! (That's the C6th neck now, Right?!)!

I think scale here for a five piece is $37.50@. Less then the non-union work. With wages in Nvl at 15$ @ nite, I'm sure the dues and sign up fee would be reasonable... Wouldn't want to "scab" on anybody

I'm going to get a "comped" week or few days down there in late summer by a local producer, as I've never been there, and I'd like to see what the grafiti really looks like. Maybe see a few old friends that I know there. Steve Westley, Skip Parenti, Bubba Wray, Van Coffee, Linn Paulson, Gary Bennett, Donny Herron, Danny "This'll BLOW YOUR MIND" Day, Lizard Gregory, Tammy Berkley, Race, Shorty Rogers and a dozen others I'm sure I'll recognize at the local burger windows.

Who knows..

" Would you like to 'Biggy Size' that burger sir?" " More 'Special Sauce'?".

If nothing else, I can get work typing up "trial affidavits" for out of state traffic ticket recipients.....Haven't missed with mine here yet.

Hockshops are full of stuff here too. Construction tools and guitars mostly. That and old masonic 30-32nd rings.

Dump trucks are cheap here too.. Cheaper then cars.

The Teamsters Union Local 162 can get you in one for minimum wage if you don't mind not getting paid extra for overtime..
