Billy, Just reread your post, Seems like you asked me why I didn't give up one of my shipping dates to you, why? Should I have? You didn't buy the guitar from me, do you deserve to get yours first? I waited longer than you,and so did my customer! Come on boys, there are better things to discuss on this forum that this silliness.

Bobby, you need to run for President, and if you did,I would Vote for YOU, Man. And Danny Hullihen would make a great Running mate. And while I'm at it, Herb could be voted in as your Secratary of Defense! And I know that when Bobby orders his Emmons, he orders anywhere from 15- 20 steels at a time, I know, man, because I'm the fellow who had to ship these puppys' to him, With or WITHOUT the pedalracks. Guys,DON'T EVEN GO THERE, You wouldn't belive it if I told you, so........Ask Dr.Bob, HE CAN TELL YOU GUYS ALL ABOUT IT. It's a story from HELL!!!(quite funny, as a matter of fact)

Good rate? I've kept my 9 1/4% loan. Kinda like a hidden savings account. BTW Herb, as I type this post upside down, I'm enjoying a Merlot too. Its from Duckhorn Vineyards located in the Napa Valley. The vintage is '84 and the alcohol content is 13.1%. I believe Parker scored this at 96 points. Whatever the case, I'm one happy guy.I refinanced my house

First of all, I thought you'd be giving me a big, sloppy, wet kiss... or have Brandi do it... for my brilliant defense of why most retailers don't stock steels, and how steel dealers have the milk of human kindness running through their veins for even being steel dealers in the first place!!
But, in answer to your question, lap tops are where many of us start. For example, my first lap tops were a Dobro, a Dickerson, a Fender Deluxe, and a Rick Model B.
That is what Gary was talking about, wasn't it?

I'll have Brandy take care of the kiss stuff,
I always appreciate you truthful, intelligent observations. I might hug ya though!
Back to the "lap top" thing. I thought that was a reference to some type of portable computer? Is this the new way of saying lap steel? If so, why are we calling it something to confuse it with something else with the same name? A lap top?
I guess we could start calling a steel guitar a "CAR". This makes as much sense. or we could call a amplifier a computer? I don't get why we should come up with a new name for an old instrument that has been around for so long, and the laptop computer hasn't. Hey, I don't care, call it what you want, you can name it "Billy" if you want to, I just can't figure out why. But that's my problem, I 'spose.
Speaking of changing names,

Gary and Herb, What has a laptop got to do with a steel guitar?
Both can be purchased from retailers and directly from the manufactures. Somehow pictures in brochures and internet pics don't quite give you the full insight.
Well if you're bilingual it is!Is this the new way of saying lap steel?

Quote: you can get a better warranty (from Bobbe, what about you Danny?) end quote.
Harry, to answer your question, if a guy buys a new Emmons or ZumSteel from me, and should it fail to work at any time for the original owner in the future, I will fix it for free, regardless of how long that may be.
In my opinion, I believe the folks at Emmons and Zum know what their guitars are made of, and how they were made. They also know what normal wear is. Most guitars today, (or at least the above mentioned) are built to last most people a life time, and from personal experience, the above manufacturers have replaced faulty parts for me at no cost other than shipping, any time I could show them one of their parts have failed under normal use. My only expense is my time and labor to make the repairs. So to answere your question, "how long is my personal extended warranty to my customers?, it's as for as long as you own it. The only thing pending that is how that customer cared for his instrument.
If you've beat the daylights out of your guitar, and haven't tried to take reasonable care of it, I will know that the moment I look at it! It's really just that simple.

err...I meant to say I'd buy my next steel from Danny! Boy do I like that guarantee!
I do know that Bobbe will fly down here and parachute in the parts. Ok...death match, Bobbe -vs- Danny (Just joking here guys, I don't care what anyone says about you two. You're mostly alright in my book )
BTW, I really did not mean to say anything disrespectful about any builder who sells direct. I just don't think it is good idea to prepay for something like this. A deposit is fine.
I wish the Lashley family and Emmons guitars the best in the future and hope that they will persevere.
Laptops? c'mon guys.... a little decorum here

Bobbe, you better re-read my post, I dont recall asking you to give up anything for me, all I asked was, where do guys like myself fall into getting what they ordered, I was told a certian date, Not a certian year. and 8 times I was given a shipping date, So, all I'm asking out of one of those 8 times why wasnt it shipped like they said??? I sent the money like they said, and have the cashed copy of the check that the bank sent to me, theres something wrong with someone shipping dept. seems to me..Bobbe if you promise not to shoot over the telephone, I'll call Saturday and let you inow if it was shipped, and if so we will do some dealings
