Thanks Howard and Herb for your remarks.
Gaylon,
I don't know Boo personally, but I'm sure he was stating his rathers like Kevin was. He was defending Jo Dee as you are about Grethen. If people would think before typing, it would be a nicer forum.
Saying all that I hope you'll reconsider and not hold him in contempt. I also wish your Dad the best of health!
Congrat's to Jo Dee again! I'm happy she uses steel on her records and she's hired Boo and David! Not all country artists do.
Theresa

I heard of JM's talent in early 1993 from drummer Mike "Spike," Smith when we began working together, he told me then that if she (JM) ever got a record deal she would go to the top and it appears she has. As for GW, for a new artist she seems to be holding her own too. I agree with what others above have said, there are songs by both artists they like and dislike, which is common, but it just speaks well of both performers when they can please a fan with at least some of their recordings.<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Kenny Burford on 10 May 2005 at 11:34 AM.]</p></FONT><font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Kenny Burford on 10 May 2005 at 11:35 AM.]</p></FONT>

Jo Dee is a very popular singer!....a little 'mod' for some of us, but the 'younguns' love her!
Most of us have seen the Spires family at the steel shows for awhile and we know they are very talented! Now we see David [with the steel guitar that we all love] on TV with Jo Dee. Soooo....we say say simply...'Go for it David, with our blessing'!!!

Hey DS . . .
Your "Dobro" simulator tone was GREAT on GMA.
But, you "Steel tone" was harsh!
I attribute this some to the "low-tech" of "TV" audio.
If I were the sound engineer,
I would have changed your "Steel-Tone" to have a different "dimension" . . .
A little further back in the "mix" and "dimension" . . w/delay, echo or reverb.
Best wishes for a great tour.

Gaylon,
I seem to recall Larry Bell telling me about his gig, and the name Gretchen Wilson comes to mind. Is he working with you, or am I remembering the wrong name?
An aside, seems like a lot of agendas here.
'Just a couple of chick singers.'? Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline were just a couple of chick singers. The Dixie Chicks are three. Maybe the more flack you get, the better you are.
