My all time favorite would have to be Miss Peggy Lee! Especially her old stuff like "Why Don't You Do Right" from around 1942. I really liked her tune from the 70's called "Is That All There Is". She had that beauty mark (mole) on her face long before Marilyn Monroe came along. One of the sexiest chicks to ever come down the pike. I also like the following but not in any particular order....Trischa Yearwood, Iris Dement, Gillian Welch, Patty Loveless, Ginger Boatwright, and last but not least, Sheryl Crow. She's got that mole thing going. There are a bunch more but I'm can't hardly remember my own name, let alone their's........JH

Among today's crop of female singers, I'd have to vote for Connie Smith.
Patti Page was "pure country singer" with class and style with no need to do body piercings, display her navel and cleavage to the max.
Rosalee Allen was a great harmonizer and yodeler and Judy Perkins was not bad either.
